A/ Le roi assis dans une stalle gothique, couronné, vêtu d'un haubert et de la cotte d'armes, tenant l'épée main droite et l'écu de France aux lis sans nombre main gauche, dans un polylobe cantonné de petits trèfles; sautoirs sur les marches de la stalle. R/ Croix quadrilobée et fleuronnée, dans un quadrilobe orné de feuilles et cantonné de quatre trèfles.
Edouard III a fait frapper en France trois monnaies qui portent son titre de roi de France et différentes des monnaies féodales produites en Acquitaine. L'atelier monétaire reste inconnu. Ces productions portant le titre de roi de France sont consécutives à la dénonciation du traité de Calais par Charles V. Pour l'écu d'or imité de celui de Philippe IV, la production se placerait à Calais.
