Expand abbreviations in brackets. (Precise spellings can be uncertain, especially when expanding the traditional “ur” abbreviation.) Use ‘i’ and ‘u’ (vowels), ‘j’ and ‘v’ (consonants) according to current usage. Apply modern capitalisation. Transcribe Roman numerals in lowercase. Transcribe Runic letters ‘þ’ (thorn) as ‘th’ and ‘ȝ’ (yogh) as ‘y’.
