The old order of makinge of (th)e kings bed, not
to be used or done but as his grace will com-
mand & appoynt frome time to time hereafter.
First a grolme or a page to take a torch & to goe to the

& the bed(es) feete, three yeomen or two at the least in every side
of the bed, the gentleman huisher apart commanding them w(ha)t
they should doe, a yeoman w(i)th a dagger to search the strawe of
the kings bed (tha)t there bee no untruth therein, & then the yeomen
to cast up the bed of downe upon (tha)t & one of them to tumble
over it for the search thereof ...
